Rise of the Guardians Opening Nationwide Today
When the latest animated flick Rise of the Guardians hits the big screen today, Ark-La-Tex movie goers will see a familiar name in the opening credits.
It's Moonbot Studios co-founder and Oscar winner, Bill Joyce, who wrote the source material and served as a producer.
The movie is based on Joyce's picture books and novels "The guardians of Childhood."
Joyce teamed up with Dreamwork Animations for the movie.
It features story-time favorites like the Tooth Fairy, the Easter bunny, The Sandman, and Santa Claus.
Joyce says this movie was more than a decade in the making with lots of time and effort, but also dedication.
"Everybody who worked on this movie had a real emotional response to it. So they wanted to get it right. There's days when everybody's collaborating, everybody's hitting their stride and it's just so much fun, you can't believe you're getting paid for it."
Rise of the Guardians opens nationwide today.
