A Russellville police officer has shot and killed a man who brandished a handgun when officers responded to a call to his home.
State police say the Friday afternoon shooting occurred during a third visit by police to the address.
On the call prior to the one that resulted in the shooting, a resident reported someone at the residence had fired a bullet into a window.
State police say Russellville officers responded to the third call after a mental health hotline reported someone at the house needed assistance.
Officials say a man met police at the front of the house and aimed a pistol at the officers.
The name of the dead person is being withheld until relatives are notified. Names of the officers weren't released by state police.
