Authorities are investigating the armed robbery of an off duty Shreveport Police officer.
The officer, who works in an undercover capacity and whose name was not released, pulled over around 12:15 a.m. Sunday morning to use an ATM near 1700 Line Avenue in Shreveport. The officer says he was retrieving his wallet from the trunk of a city-owned vehicle when he was approached by two males, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
The officer told investigators that one of the suspects rummaged through his car while the other suspect held him at gunpoint and demanded money. The suspects got away with an undisclosed amount of money and a department-issued handgun.
Detectives have recovered surveillance video from the scene and interviewed potential witnesses.
The suspects were last seen driving a black four door Saturn. The officer, who was not injured, described both suspects as black males, both 5'4" to 5'6" tall, thin build and low hair cuts.
