A man wanted for murder in South Louisiana has been arrested in Shreveport.
Robert Lee Heard is accused of killing his wife Friday evening at a home in Eunice, Louisiana. Authorities in St. Landry Parish began a manhunt for Heard, who was considered to be armed and dangerous.
Just after 9:00 a.m. Saturday, the Eunice Police Department was notified that Heard was arrested by Shreveport police officers.
Eunice police will transfer the suspect back to St. Landry Parish to face a murder charge.
Heard has a previous arrest in California for 2nd degree murder and an arrest for attempted 1st degree murder in Shreveport in 2003. He was just released from prison in July 2011 and is currently on parole.
