Voters in Northwest Louisiana go to the polls Saturday to decide elections that include congressional primaries and judicial elections.

Polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

The congressional primaries had been scheduled for September but were postponed because of Hurricane Gustav.

The Democratic primary involves Paul Carmouche, the retiring district attorney in Caddo Parish, along with Willie Banks of Leesville, Artis Cash of Shreveport and John Milkovich of Shreveport.

Three Republicans -- John Fleming of Minden, Chris Gorman of Shreveport and Jeff Thompson of Bossier City -- are in a tough race for the Republican nomination. A runoff will be held if no one gets a majority of Saturday's vote.

Also on the ballot Saturday are judicial elections in Caddo and Bossier parishes and district attorneys races in Caddo and DeSoto parishes.
