An accident involving a Caddo Parish School bus leaves the driver injured.

The accident happened around 7:45a.m. Monday near the 7600 block of Cornelius Street.

Authorities say the bus driver, identified as Robert McAdams, was turning into the bus ramp of Caddo Middle Magnet  to drop off students when he struck a metal pole. 

Details are sketchy, but officials tell us that the pole entered the bus injuring the driver's leg.

McAdams injured his right leg and was taken to an area hospital.

School officials tell us that he is undergoing surgery at this hour.

Three students received minor injuries.
