Murder charges have been filed against a second person in connection with the death of a woman who suffered a methamphetamine overdose. In both cases, authorities have charged the people who allegedly provided the drugs.

Paul Tharpe Martin, 29, of the 9900 block of Smitherman Drive in Shreveport, was arrested by Bossier Parish sheriff's deputies Thursday and booked for second-degree murder in the death of Dorothy Gail Wilson, 44, of Haughton.

Sheriffs investigators allege that Martin gave methamphetamine to the man who in turn gave the fatal overdose to Wilson.

Matthew Blake Fite, 37, of Haughton was arrested last month and charged with playing a part in the death of Wilson, who was found dead on her couch on June 17.

Sheriff's investigators say Fite admitted buying methamphetamine the night Wilson died and giving her a needle to administer the drugs. He insisted, however, that she was alive when he left, investigators said.

Base on a coroner's report, sheriff's investigators believe Wilson had died four hours before Fite left her.

The coroner also ruled Wilson's death due to a methampetamine overdose, investigators said.

Fite and Martin are both jailed under $1 million bonds.
