Senator David Vitter is pressing the Census Bureau on notions that at least three parts of Louisiana have been undercounted.
In Shreveport's case, the 2010 census showed the city shrinking below 200,00 which shrinks federal funds.
The city is at fault for failing to report annexed areas that grew the population.
"The census has a responsibility to double and triple check that as it goes through its process. So in any case, whosever fault it was every step of the way, there may have been multiple mistakes involved, we need this corrected," said Senator Vitter.
He is also concerned about undercounting in Monroe and Washington Parish.
