Arklatex residents filled Bossier Civic Center Thursday night to honor Bossier Parish Sheriff Larry Deen for more than two decades of dedicated service.
Deen served as Sheriff for six terms before deciding not to run for re-election.
Well-wishers and supporters came from all over Northwest Louisiana to pay tribute.
Deen said it was an honor to serve the citizens of Bossier Parish for 24 years.
Sheriff Deen will complete his 6th term as Bossier Sheriff on June 30, 2012, and Sheriff Julian Whittington will become the sheriff of Bossier Parish on July 1, 2012.
