Shreveport City Marshal Offers Amnesty Week
The Shreveport City Marshal’s office, located at 1244 Texas Avenue, will be holding Amnesty Week February, 25, 2013 through March 1, 2013 between the hours of 8am to 5pm.
During this week, arrest and additional fees associated with warrants will be waived. Anyone with a bench warrant 3 years or older can go in and schedule a new court date. Those who make a partial payment on their delinquent fines, can have their warrant or warrants recalled and a new payment date given.
Marshal Caldwell encourages anyone who thinks that they may have an outstanding warrant on a delinquent fine or a bench warrant 3 years or older to take advantage of Amnesty Week. This gesture of goodwill is being offered by Marshal Caldwell in order to help those individuals to “get back on track”, save money on unnecessary fees, and to fulfill their obligations to the court. Amnesty Week allows those with delinquent fine or old warrants to come in without fear of being arrested.
Again, the Amnesty program is only for those individuals with active warrants for delinquent fines or warrants older than 3 years.
Please contact the Marshal’s office at 318-673-6800 if additional information is needed concerning the details of Amnesty Week.
