Shreveport, LA (KTBS) -

A local man is now being sought by police following a warrant being issued for his arrest in connection to a shooting that injured a teenage victim.

Back on February 6, 2013, at 9:00 p.m., Shreveport Police officers responded to the 5200 block of Kent Avenue after hearing reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they were initially told that two people had been shot and a third was believed to be suffering minor injuries as a result of being grazed by bullet fragments. Witnesses and the victims gave investigators conflicting versions of what actually took place immediately preceding the shooting. It was later discovered that despite earlier reported information, only one person, a 14 year old male had been shot. The male victim, who suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries and released a short time later.

Since the shooting, authorities were able to uncover information that linked 23 year old LaCalvin Williams of Shreveport to the shooting. Based on that information, investigators issued a warrant for the arrest of Williams charging him with a single count of illegal use of a weapon. Williams bond is set at 50,000.00 dollars. Anyone with information about this crime are urged to contact Shreveport Police Violent Crimes detectives at (318) 673-6955 or Caddo Crimestoppers at (318) 673-7373 or on their website at lockemup.org.
