In 2007, 7 Shreveport Police officers have been arrested on various charges.

The latest comes after Bossier Police arrested Shreveport Sergeant Ricky Moore on DWI charges.

Shreveport Police Chief Henry Whitehorn said Moore's arrest was a low blow to all law enforcement.

"We have some individuals that make bad choices and they will be held accountable for their actions. Anytime a police officer is arrested, that's a black eye on any badge, any star that wears the uniform," Whitehorn said.

He also said the arrests will not stop him from running a tight ship.

He said the best way to make sure his men and women in blue follow the rules is by showing them.

Whitehorn said, "This is a professional organization, and I intend to maintain that professionalism, and the biggest thing that's going to happen is, I'm going to lead by example."

Detective Rod Demery said Whitehorn's serious about enforcing discipline.

Demery admits he tries to stay objective about his colleagues who found themselves on the wrong side of the law, but he still feels for them.

Sergeant Ricky Moore posted $1,400 bond and was released from jail Satuday. He was placed on paid administrative leave. An investigation is ongoing.
