Sara lives in Shreveport. For the past two years her water bill has been sky high and no one knows why. Sara said, "I've had plumbers come out, my irrigation man has come out, and everything just seems to be fine. But I'm still getting nearly $200. That is just too much."
Sara has called the city a few times to try to get help but the city says the bills are accurate. Barbara Featherston with Shreveport's Water and Sewage said, "We've been out there several times, we've checked the meter, we've checked the reads, it appears the irrigation system has run during the summer like most folks have."
So Sara turned off her sprinkler system, stopped using her dishwasher and only washes clothes twice a week. But that didn't help. They've spent thousands of dollars trying to figure out what's wrong and now this family says they don't know what to do anymore. Jeanette Mladenka is Sara's daughter. She said, "There are no leaks in this house, there's nothings thats going on from our side thats causing this to happen. And the bills continue to come 178 168 nearly 200 dollars every month." Sara concludes, "Heavens... If it's this now, what will it be in the summer?"
