Ambulance crews from the Shreveport and Bossier City fire departments are being sent to South Louisiana to assist in Hurricane Gustav response, Shreveport Fire Chief Brian Crawford said.

The crews are scheduled to head to a staging area in Baton Rouge on Saturday morning. One ambulance and two crews from each department are going, Crawford said.

Crawford said the Shreveport Fire Department has fire and rescue crews on standby in case they are needed in response to Hurricane Gustav.
