Detective Roy Menefee of the SPD Domestic Violence Unit will receive the 40 and 8 Law Officer of the Year Award for his work in stemming domestic violence in the City of Shreveport. Det. Menefee has already received 40 and 8's top award for the State. The award ceremony and banquet will be held Thursday, Oct. 2, at 8040 S. Lakeshore Dr.

Det. Menefee, was the 2007 recipient of the Caddo-Bossier Domestic Abuse Task Force's annual Trey hutchinson Award for his efforts against domestic violence. In 2005, he was honored by the Sons of the American Revolution for his efforts against domestic violence and much more.
