Sitter In Jail After Stealing From An Elderly Woman

Bossier City police have arrested a woman for stealing from an elderly woman while she worked for the victim as a sitter.

Detectives with the Bossier Financial Crimes Task Force arrested Robin Early, 51, of Bossier City on a charge of theft of assets of an aged person. Early is accused of stealing a credit card from a 93-year old woman who hired Early as a sitter last year. Early reportedly then used the credit card to make $2000 in unauthorized purchases. She is also accused of stealing jewelry from the victim. Early worked independently as a sitter and was not affiliated with an agency.

Detectives are still investigating whether Early may have been involved in similar thefts and are asking anyone who hired Early as a sitter in the past to call the Bossier Financial Crimes Task Force at (318) 741-8831.

The Bossier Financial Crimes Task Force is composed of white collar crime investigators with the Bossier City Police Department and Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office. Bossier City Chief of Police Shane McWilliams and Bossier Parish Sheriff Julian Whittington formed the task force in December of last year to combine resources from both agencies to combat crimes such as identity theft, fraud and embezzlement with the city and parish.
