The town of Springhill, Louisiana, has something to celebrate.

The community is responsible for raising thousands of dollars to help St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The 2nd Annual St. Jude Silent Auction Fundraiser was held Tuesday evening at Browning Elementary School.

Aside from collecting the items up for auction, the school provided dinner and entertainment to patrons.

Organizers are pleased to announce that they surpassed their goal with flying colors and that means Principal Levester Mills will soon pucker up and kiss a pig.

 At last check, the tally was around $9,000.

if they reach $10,000 Principal Mills has agreed to shave his head.

All proceeds will be donated to the St. Jude Children's Hospital during the auction to be held in Minden January 31st - February 3rd.
