St. Martin inmate escapes from work crew

St. Martin Parish authorities are looking for an inmate who walked away from a work detail in Cecilia, near the town library.
The Advocate (http://bit.ly/14aXHMC ) reports 21-year-old Bryce Jackson fled shortly after 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The sheriff's office says Jackson was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt with an orange T-shirt underneath, gray sweat pants and black work boots.
Authorities say Jackson was in jail on counts of simple burglary, theft and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Anyone with information on Jackson's whereabouts is asked to contact the sheriff's office at 337-394-2800.
