The 5th annual Shreveport St. Patrick's Day parade is set to roll through Shreveport's Broadmoor neighborhood Saturday afternoon.
Friday, float riders spent the day putting the finishing touches on their floats. This year's parade is going to include nine floats, several walking groups, bands and even a life sized leprechaun named "Lucky".
The event is raising money for volunteers for youth justice and CASA. Parade chair Emily Welch expects hundreds of people to attend and says all that come will get to indulge in the unique throws that will be given out.
"We have a lot of St. Patrick's Day themed goodies, a lot of beach balls, tons of cups and regular beads" says Welch.
The St. Patrick's Day parade will roll through the Broadmoor neighborhood beginning at the corner of Albany and Anniston Avenue. The parade starts at noon and this year's special guests for the event is the cast of "My Big Redneck Vacation".
