Police detectives have arrested a local man in connection with a stabbing that occurred last night in west Shreveport.
At approximately 7:40 p.m. on August 6, 2012, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to the 4500 block of Tulsa Avenue relative to a stabbing. Upon arrival patrolmen found 27 year old Dennis Fester suffering from a serious cut to his torso. Fester was taken to LSU Health Shreveport by the Shreveport Fire Department with what has been described as a potentially life-threatening injury.
Investigators immediately responded to the scene of the crime and, upon further investigation, discovered Fester and a man known to him, later identified as 25 year old Frederic Reutlinger, were involved in some sort of altercation that culminated in a physical fight between the two men. During the first encounter, Reutlinger allegedly pulled a knife and cut Fester before fleeing the scene.
A short time later Reutlinger, of the 100 block of Loop Street in Bossier City, surrendered to authorities at the Shreveport Police Complex and, following interviews with detectives, was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of attempted second degree murder.
