Strikes For Special Olympics
On Saturday, December 8, 2012, Holiday Lanes, a member of the Bowling Proprietors of America (BPAA), hosted a Strikes for Special Olympics fundraiser with over 100 bowlers in attendance and raised $3015.93. This fundraiser benefits the Special Olympics of Louisiana. Strikes for Special Olympics is part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) campaign. The LETR is presented by more than 85,000 law enforcement officers worldwide who raise money and public awareness for Special Olympics. The LETR is the largest grassroots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle for Special Olympics. During the month of December, Holiday Lanes is devoted to raising money and awareness for Special Olympics. There are two other ways to participate throughout the month of December:
1) Purchase a 25th Anniversary "A Very Special Christmas" holiday music series CD, benefiting Special Olympics at Holiday Lanes. Titles of the albums are: A VERY SPECIAL CHRISTMAS 25TH ANNIVERSARY on Big Machine Records and A VERY SPECIAL CHRISTMAS: BRINGING PEACE ON EARTH on Word Records. Click here.
2) GET YOUR NAME ON HOLIDAY LANES WALL: Purchase a Special Olympics Icon at the Holiday Lanes cash register. Icons can be purchased starting at $1. Plus for every $5 donation you get a FREE music Download.
Special Olympics changes lives through the power of sport, as the world’s largest organization dedicated to year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for people with intellectual disabilities. Holiday Lanes wishes to thank the community for supporting this event and making it such a success. Holiday Lanes is located at 3316 Old Minden Road, Bossier City, LA 71111.
