Three Natchitoches Parish teenagers have been accused of putting a witch's brew of cleaning and paint products into milk at their school. Two children in a preschool program took sips of the milk and wound up being taken to the hospital.

Natchitoches sheriff's investigators said three students at Lakeview school in Campti mixed window cleaner, liquid detergent, a paint product and chalkboard cleaner and put the concoction in two bottles of chocolate milk in the school cafeteria.

"They had managed to repackage the milk in a way it was not evident it had been tampered with," sheriff's investigator Travis Trammell said.

Trammell said he doesn't believe any one student was targeted.

"The milk was put back in the cooler where it could have been gotten by anybody," he said.

Two children in a preschool program got the tainted milk. One took a drink and spit it out, but a 4-year-old, Keyln, swallowed it and began gagging, said her mother, Mandy Gross.

Trammell said neither child drank enough to be in danger but they were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

"If you can't be safe at school, where can you be safe?" Mandy Gross said.

Arrested were Chasman Evans, 17, Latrent Demonte Jackson, 18, and a juvenile.

Natchitoches Parish's schools superintendent said the three students who were arrested also face expulsion from school.
