As fans and members of the media gather in what some consider a media circus in the Mercedes Benz Superdome, Doug Thornton, Senior Vice President of SMG is still preparing this facility for the biggest sports show on earth. Thornton says ever since they won the bid to host the Super Bowl four years ago, they have been making plans to get the facility ready.He says coordinating the Super Bowl along with Mardi Gras has been a big challenge for the city. Right now he is pleased with the progress, but knows there's more work to be done.Thorton's company also manages the Centurylink Center in Bossier City, The Shreveport Convention Center and the Municipal Auditorium.
