Suspects arrested for committing multiple vehicle break ins at the La. Boardwalk
Bossier City police with the assistance of the Shreveport Police Department caught and arrested two suspects accused of committing several vehicle burglaries Saturday night at the Louisiana Boardwalk.
Anthony Jerrell Gross, 20, and Reginald Demichel Johnson, 17, both of Shreveport were arrested early Sunday morning on burglary charges after a witness reported seeing several male subjects on bicycles breaking into vehicles in the parking lot near the IHop Restaurant.
The suspects reportedly were seen late Saturday night going through the parking lot lifting door handles on unlocked vehicles and rummaging through them. Several items including purses, electronics and money were taken. Officers responded to the scene and began a search for the suspects. Bossier City police also notified Shreveport police of the incident and provided suspect descriptions in case the suspects escaped into Shreveport over the Texas Street Bridge.
A short time later Shreveport police located and stopped two male subjects, later identified as Gross and Johnson, on bicycles in downtown Shreveport and notified Bossier City police. Both were subsequently arrested by Bossier City police and booked into the Bossier City Jail each on seven counts of simple burglary. Some of the stolen items were also recovered by Bossier City police.
Detectives say additional arrests are possible.
