Texarkana, TX -

Texas A&M - Texarkana has a new leader on campus.

Dr. Emily Cutrer met with the local media Tuesday to discuss her future goals for the university.

As new president of Texas A&M Texarkana, she says there are key issues in higher education that must continually be addressed including tuition costs, technology, and student access.

"Once they step foot on campus we need to be doing everything we can to ensure their learning and to ensure that they move along toward the degree that is their goal," said Dr. Cutrer.

Cutrer moved from California where she was the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at California State University in San Marcos.
