Texas Southern University has suspended, revoked scholarships and permanently kicked out of the school's renowned band 10 students involved in hazing.A university task force headed by President John M. Rudley announced the penalties on Tuesday.Spokesman Kendrick D. Callis says the students were in the band's trumpet section.A university statement says previous suspensions for other members of the 180-strong Ocean of Soul Marching Band have been lifted.The band's performances will be reduced and closely monitored, and out-of-state travel will be decided on a case-by-case basis. The university has canceled the band's participation in the Thanksgiving Day parade and a "battle of the bands" in Atlanta.The TSU incident comes in the wake of a hazing scandal involving the death of a Florida A&M University band member.
