The Red River Tea Party and We the People Rally was loud and proud at the Bossier Civic Center. Their focus is to get Mitt Romney elected and restore conservative values in the federal government. However, support like today's, for Romney, wasn't always so.
"I like Newt Gingrich," one party member said. "but for purposes to unify the party, I agree that Romney will be the logical choice."
Several at the rally might agree with them. Romney wasn't the Tea Party's first choice for the GOP presidential candidate. Spokesperson Sarah Price says Romney has changed their minds.
"I think that people have gotten to know Romney better since the Republican Convention and through the debates," Price said. "I think he's become more of a person."
Now, all efforts by the local Tea Party are helping his campaign. Price says they're spreading the word to undecided voters around the country and in swing states. U.S. Senator David Vitter spoke at the rally and encouraged party members to help.
"We need to do absolutely everything we can between now and November 6th to fight for the right result," Vitter said. "Anything you can. Talk to friends and neighbors..."
In just a matter of days, the nation will know if those efforts have worked.
