A weekend shooting in Shreveport's Queensborough neighborhood injures a local teen and leaves police searching for a suspect.
It happened Saturday just before 6:30p.m. in the 3500 block of Lakeland Street.
After authorities arrived on scene, they made contact with a 17-year-old male victim who sustained minor injuries after he was struck by a bullet that reportedly entered the home while the teen slept inside. The teen was transported to LSUHSC with injuries that were considered to be non life threatening.
Investigators with Shreveport Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit immediately launched their investigation into the shooting.
Witnesses within the residence at the time of the shooting told investigators that they heard what sounded like a single gunshot from outside of the house, followed by the teenage victim exclaiming that he had been shot.
Authorities have not developed a motive in the shooting but believed that it may have stemmed from an alleged argument between the teen and another group of persons that occurred earlier that day.
Authorities urge anyone with information about this crime to contact Caddo-Shreveport Crimes Stoppers at (318) 673-7373.
