The TexAmericas center near Hooks, Texas is cleaning house and will be auctioning off several government surplus items from the lone star army ammunition plan.

The organization acquired the property as part of the brac 2005 plant closure. Surplus vehicles, office equipment and scrap metal are just a few of the items being stored at the TexAmericas center off Highway 82.

TexAmericas officials say they need to dispose of more than $10,000 property items.

The government liquidation website helps move the merchandise.

"Most of the items are in good condition and operational," said Derrick McGary, Vice President of Public and Business Engagement TexAmericas Center.

All of the proceeds will benefit the TexAmericas center general fund.

The items for sale will be tagged and posted online at www.govliquidation.com starting in October.
