Police are investigating a shooting in Texarkana, Texas.

It happened Wednesday night around 7 p.m. in the 600 block of Jerome street.

Police say one man was shot in the chest and taken to the hospital by a vehicle.

The alleged shooter fled the scene on foot.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

The shooting occurred in the roadway, where police say multiple shell casings were recovered.

Investigators are looking for a younger, black male, wearing red clothing.

The motive for this shooting is unknown at this time.
