Texarkana prepares for Mardi Gras

Texarkana, Ark. -

Texarkana's first mardi gras celebration kicks off in downtown Saturday.

There are more than 100 vendors and 50 parade entries in the event.

The theme for the Mardi Gras parade is musical icons.

Several businesses are working around the clock to put the final touches on their floats.

Front Street Texarkana is organizing all of the Mardi Gras events.

Activities will kick off Saturday, February 9th at 2 o'clock with a Krewe of Paws and Little Rascals parade.

Then at 4 in the afternoon, the Krewe of Koinonia grand parade will begin on Front Street.
