The city of Texarkana, Texas recently received $1.3 million dollars in Brownfield grants from the Environmental Protection Agency.

The purpose of the grants will be to help assess and clean-up contaminated buildings for future redevelopment.

City officials say the $900,000 revolving loan fund grant will be used to clean-up more than 200 potential properties downtown.

The mulitpurpose grant will be specially used for the assessment and clean-up of buildings 203 and 205.
