Arkansas and Texas voters have begun casting their ballots in the November 6th election.

In Miller County, Arkansas, election officials say they've already seen a record number turnout for the first day of early voting.

Nearly 300 votes were cast before noon Monday.

Voters are casting ballots on the presidential race and congressional races.

Most of the campaign's focus has been on House and Senate races around the state.

Republicans are trying to win control of the state legislature for the first time since reconstruction.

The election also features ballot measures, including a sales tax hike for highways and a proposal to legalize medical marijuana.

Early voting will end on November 2nd in Texas and November 5th in Arkansas.

In Louisiana, early voting starts Tuesady and ends October 30th.
