Texas man sentenced for attempted murder of undercover officer

CADDO PARISH, La. -

A Texas man convicted of attempted murder of an undercover Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics Agent has learned his fate.
According to Dhu Thompson, Assistant District Attorney for Caddo Parish, Jasmond Osborne, 26, of Houston was sentenced to 30 years in prison. The altercation happened at the Plantation Inn on Greenwood Road in West Shreveport in January 2012.
Authorities say the undercover officer was serving a warrant inside a room when someone fired a gun at him. The bullet however, did not penetrate the officer's vest. Authorities were working an ongoing case when the shooting happened. Two others were also arrested the night of the shooting.
