In less than one week, narcotics agents in Bienville Parish have arrested seven people for meth-related crimes. agents also destroyed at least two meth labs and seized nearly 10-thousand dollars worth of meth ice.

"Three of the seven that were arrested with in the last 72-hours are repeat offenders,” said Sgt. Chris Davis.

Sgt. Davis says one of the suspects, 76-year old James Machen is already facing drug charges in Jackson Parish. another suspect was just released a few months ago.

"From what we've seen, when they get out of jail and get their money, what do they do? Go out and crack it up,” said Sheriff John Ballance.

Agents have been working around the clock following up on tips and running surveillance on dealers. the Sheriff says their hard work has really paid off.

"A friend of mine told me last night, our population was 16-thousand and he saw where it'd gone down a thousand. He said I think I know where they there.. they're either in jail or decided to leave Bienville Parish," said Ballance.

Ballance says he couldn't be happier to see them go.
