Two people were arrested near Timpson, Texas, early today after a traffic stop discovered a cache of drugs that had no prescriptions.

Timpson Deputy City Marshal Jud Matthews stopped a vehicle about 2:30 a.m. on U.S. 59, a major corridor for drug smugglers coming from Houston and Mexico.

The people in the car acted nervous and gave differing accounts of their itinerary, Matthews said.
The deputy searched the vehicle and found about 8,000 hydrocodone pills, approximately 1,000 Zanax pills and more than $300 cash hidden under the hood.

If sold for individual use, that many pills would bring $100,000, authorities said.

Arrested were Lee Hill, 44, and Debbie Williams, 38, both of Houston.
