A truck driver was killed on Interstate 20 in Bossier Parish this morning when his truck had a blowout, careened across the interstate and hit a car before overturning and catching fire. Rescue workers could not free the trucker from the wreckage before he burned alive.

One of the people in the car later died.

Killed were the driver of the car, Billy Woodall, 39, of Haughton, and the trucker, Enrique Quinones, 58, of El Paso, Texas.

The accident happened one mile east of the Bossier City limits. State Police said the 18-wheeler was eastbound when the left front tire apparently blew out.

The truck veered across the median, crashed into the Saturn car driven by Woodall and then continued out of control, State Police said. The 18-wheeler ran off the westbound lanes of the interstate and flipped, coming to rest in a ditch.

The truck driver was trapped. His rig caught fire before rescue workers could free him.

A passenger in Woodall's car, Juanita Harrison, 44, of Haughton, suffered moderate injuries, troopers said.
