Actor and screen writer Tyler Perry takes the stand in a copyright lawsuit against him.

Perry is being sued by Donna West, who says Perry's "Diary of a Mad Black Woman" is a copyright infringement against her play, "Fantasy of a Black Woman".

Perry told jurors this afternoon that he had not seen West's script until yesterday in court.

He testified his promoter, Arthur Primas, brought him to the Dallas Junior Black Academy in 1998, at the same time West's play was performed there.

Perry told jurors he never stole anything from anyone.

Testimony is expected to continue through this week.
