About 42,000 tickets were sold to the 2012 Advocare V100 Independence Bowl in Shreveport.

The rain didn't do any favors for the turnout, but thousands of ULM fans were in attendance to watch the game.

Even though the Warhawks didn't come away with the win, students, alumni and fans were excited to watch the ULM football team play in its first bowl game in school history.

Ohio University won the game 45-14.
