UPDATE: Mayor Glover hospitalized after fall

SHREVEPORT, La. -

Mayor Cedric Glover is resting comfortably at a local hospital following a slip-and-fall accident Wednesday at Oak Park Microsociety Elementary School.

The Mayor was visiting Oak Park, one of the city’s two Blue Ribbon schools, to meet with faculty, teachers and students when he slipped on a curb around 10 a.m.

The preliminary examination indicated that he injured his quadriceps or thigh muscles.

An MRI is scheduled to determine the extent of the damage, allowing his doctors to further determine whether surgery is needed.

He will likely remain at Christus Shumpert Medical Center for the next several days.

He is expected to conduct any duties electronically and by telephone.
