One person is dead and another injured after an accident involving a tractor-trailer in Desoto Parish.
It happened just around 7:30am near U.S. Highway 84 and Interstate 49.
A preliminary investigation by Louisiana State Police Troop G revealed that a 2004 Kenworth driven by 27-year-old John Cline was traveling south on Interstate 49, when he exited to US Highway 84.
For reasons still under investigation, Cline failed to stop at the stop sign.
Cline entered the intersection, and his vehicle was struck on the driver's side by a west bound 2008 Chevrolet Impala driven by 23-year old Carly Deemer of Coushatta.
Deemer and her passenger 19-year old Georgia Wilson were not restrained.
Deemer was pronounced dead at the scene by the DeSoto Parish Coroner.
Wilson sustained serious injuries from the crash and was transported by Life Air to LSUHSC of Shreveport for treatment.
Cline was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
