HAUGHTON, La. -

A Haughton man is behind bars in connection with several burglaries in the Forest Hills subdivision.

Bossier Sheriff's officials say 24-year-old Bryan Marshal, of Adner Road, was arrested Friday morning for burglarizing an vehicle on Bloomfield Lane around 3:30 Friday morning.

Authorities say Marshal and an accomplice were interrupted by a homeowner, who confronted the burglars during the crime.

One of the suspects fled to a neighbor's house across the street, and that neighbor was alarmed and came outside, where the two neighbors held Marshal at gunpoint until Bossier Sheriff's deputies arrived on scene.

Bossier Sheriff's K-9 teams searched the area for the second suspect, but he remains at large.

The two car burglars stole items from at least three vehicles during the night, and the items were left behind when they fled the scene. Those items have been returned to their owners.

Their vehicle, parked down the road, was also seized.

Marshal was charged with three counts of simple burglary and also arrested on a warrant out of Bossier City for access device fraud.

He was transported to the Bossier Maxium Security Facility in Plain Dealing.

In addition, Bossier City Police have levied additional charges against Marshal.

While in jail, Marshal had friends return to Forest Hills to find keys to find a gun and his car, which officers found full of stolen items Friday morning. Those friends were stopped and arrested on drug charges.

"Those items had already been recovered by us," Detective Shannon Mack said. "They did not know that. when they were stopped and interviewed by the patrol officers three of them were found in possession of narcotics."

Mack says the sheriff's office is worried more stolen items, such as guns, are still hidden in the neighborhood, and are encouraging residents to search their property. She says all of the cars broken into were unlocked. She encourages you to never leave valuables, like guns, in your car and to always lock it up.
