Update: Name Released In Fatal Accident
Monday Night On Bostwick Road
Caddo sheriff’s deputies have identified one of the two men involved in a fiery, fatal crash Monday night on Bostwick Road.
The passenger has been identified as Austin Guin, 19, of Shreveport. He is currently being treated at LSUHSC. The driver, who Guin identified to authorities as his brother, died in the crash. His name has not been released pending positive identification by the Coroner’s Office.
Sheriff’s Cpl. Ken Davis said the truck was traveling eastbound at high rate of speed in the 6400 block of Bostwick when the driver lost control and went off the road. The truck then hit a tree and caught on fire.
Deputy Tremario Lewis said the truck had been reported stolen not long before the crash. Keith Davis, 22, said he left the truck running at a house on Jeanette after he got into an argument with a group of men, including Austin Guin. During the argument, he was struck twice in the face, so he fled the scene on foot. He later saw the truck being driven by the suspects and reported it to the Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Jeremy Bergren discovered the crash scene while searching for the suspects and the stolen truck.
The crash and events leading up to it are still under investigation by the Caddo Sheriff’s Traffic Safety Unit.
