Update: Two suspects behind bars after burglary and chase in Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, La. -

Neighborhood Watch is credited with helping to bring down two bad guys in West Shreveport.

The Shreveport Police Department tells KTBS 3 News that two male suspects are in custody following a burglary and lengthy chase.

It all started after authorities responded to a burglary in progress in the 5700 block of Bienville.

According to authorities, the Neighborhood Watch carefully observed what was happening and alerted police.

Police tell KTBS that the caller provided decent descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle.

Authorities made contact with the suspects during a traffic stop on Prentiss, however the two suspects fled on foot in different directions.

With the assistance of a police K9, it did not take long for authorities to apprehend one of the suspects.

Approximately 30 minutes later, they caught up with the other.

Police say both suspects will face burglary charges. Other charges are pending.

So far, no names have been released.
