Veterans Day celebrations kickoff in Shreveport

The Veterans 8th Annual Biker Event roared today. Hundreds of bikers gathered at Riverpark Church before swarming the roads, all to honor local veterans. Dozens of American flags, lining the church driveway, waved them on. The family event had live music, food and a bike show. The church says such a day is a great way to say thank you.

"We have several members of our congregation that are in the military, as well as fathers and mothers that serve in the military," Pastor Marcus Brigs said. "We want to give honor to whom honor's due and bless our community by honoring these veterans in an event such as this."

Don't forget Veterans Day celebrations going on tomorrow. The big Louisiana Veterans Honor Parade will start at 2 pm Sunday. It'll be held at the State Fair of Louisiana.
