A statewide reunion for veterans of all military conflicts is planned this week in Baton Rouge.

Organizers expect to attract about 60,000 people in an event they hope to hold annually.

Les Miller of Brusly, executive chairman of the event, said the goal is to offer veterans appreciation and to give them a chance to reminisce and reconnect.

The Louisiana All Veterans Reunion is set to run Thursday through Sunday. It will be held at the Airline Highway Park/Fairgrounds, 17200 Airline Highway. Opening ceremonies are at 9 a.m. Thursday.
