Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred last evening in west Shreveport.
Shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Monday, officials with the Shreveport Police Department were dispatched to a reported shooting that occurred in the 2500 block of Mabel Street in Shreveport's Queensborough neighborhood.
Upon arrival, officers learned that an adult male had been shot by an assailant who reportedly fled the scene following the shooting.
The victim in the shooting, identified as 20 year old Montrell Webber of Shreveport, was rushed to LSUHSC where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
During the course of the investigation, authorities arrested 20 year old Cordavien Anderson of Shreveport after he was developed as a suspect in the shooting.
Anderson surrendered to authorities at police headquarters, late Monday night.
He was booked into the Shreveport City Jail and has been charged with second degree murder.
The investigation into the shooting death continues.
