He didn't fake his own death, but he did fake pictures of his death. Doing so has landed his estranged wife in jail accused of hiring a hit man to kill him. Scott Mills spoke to KTBS 3's Chris Redford about his wife's alleged plan to get rich at his fatal expense.

They say a picture's worth a thousand words, but when Scott Mills looks at the pictures of him faking his own death, he can only think of one, "amazing".

What's really amazing, and bizarre, is the story behind the pictures. Bossier sheriff's deputies took the pictures to prove to Mills' estranged wife he accidentally died by falling off a ladder. They say Shelia Mills hired who she thought was a hit man to kill him. The hit man turned out to be an undercover deputy. Mills contacted authorities after he got a call from a friend who told him what his wife was up to.

Investigators say Mills' wife offered $30,000 to have him killed so she could collect on his $1,000,000 life insurance policy.

Shelia Mills is charged with soliciting murder and conspiracy to committ murder. The couple had been separated since early April.
