Fran Smallwood and her three daughters are part of a unique learning opportunity through the Louisiana Connections Academy.

Smallwood says knowing that the teachers are certified gives her the confidence that her children are receiving a quality education.

"There's that one-on-one, rather than one to 25," says Smallwood.

"We are an accredited, public school, that has the same level of accountability of any public school," said Wood. "All of our students have to go through state testing."
