Shreveport, La -

The upcoming November election is less than two months away and many people in Caddo Parish are already gearing up for it.

Ernie Roberson with the Caddo Registrar of Voters says they've seen a steady flow of traffic the past month and half to two months.  So much so, that they've already exceeded the number of people they had registered during the last presidential election in 2008.

"We had 164,170 in 2008, that was the registration than and now we're at 166,418, so we're already two thousand above that," said Roberson.

While many voters are coming in to register, Roberson says they have also come in to change addresses, as well as, their political party.

"We're really seeing the greatest gain in people registering as no party, independents, or some other party like Liberterian, Reform, Green or something like that," said Roberson.

The deadline to register for early voting is Tuesday, October 9th.

Early Voting will take place from Tuesday, October 23rd, beginning at 8 a.m until 6.m.
